Now that school is almost back in session I figured I should probably update what we have been up to over the summer. So here is a quick over view...
Jeff got his associates.
We went and stayed with our friends Cody and Robyn and their children. While we were there we went to the Hill Aerospace Museum. I think Isaac was a little taken back by all of the very large airplanes. He wasn't quite sure what to think while we were there.
We took a little detour on our way home and stopped in Heber to see Thomas the Train while it was in town since Isaac has been a big fan of trains lately. Again Isaac wasn't sure what to think while on the train ride. Before seeing this train all he ever saw were the tv shows like Thomas the Train, Dinosaur Train, and lately a favorite for him, The Polar Express or toy trains. So he never really knew how big an actual train was until then.
Thomas taking more passengers for a ride.
Then in June I was a bridesmaid for Brittnae, a cousin that we have gotten to become good friends with and that was fun for me at least being able to be a part of her special day.
Brittnae had an open house up north and while we were up there for that we went to the Kennecott Copper mine. One of these tires costs over $25,000 and each truck has 6 tires. That's a lot of money. And they don't even last more than 9 months. Crazy.
The 4th of July we went to Jeff's uncles house and celebrated Independence Day with there family.
SkyWest had a discount for certain days to Tuacahn to see either The Little Mermaid or Grease. Obviously we chose The Little Mermaid which was pretty good minus the two 20 minute delays due to rain.
We got home around midnight, had to make sure we were all packed and ready to leave by 4:50am to head to the airport and be on our way to Chicago.Chicago
We got to Chicago on Thursday. Friday Jeff and I went to Six Flags and played in the water a good part of the day.
Saturday Jeff, Isaac, Grandma, Grandpa and I went to the Shedd Aquarium. We went and watch a little dolphin show. Then we went and watch a 4-D Dora the explorer movie which didn't impress Isaac and pretty much after that the Aquarium went down hill (at least for Isaac).
We saw penguins and very large various types of fish.
A favorite part of mine at the aquarium were seeing all of the different types of Jelly Fish. This was one of my favorites.
Monday we took a train into Chicago and walked around for awhile. We went to The Bean, we walked to a Disney store and headed back to catch the train back to Jeff's parents home.
Isaac liked seeing his reflection in the bean.
Wednesday Jeff and I went and saw Peter Pan which was another fun experience. It was done in a round tent and the scenes were projected onto the ceiling. I liked this version of peter pan because there wasn't much singing involved.
Just a cute picture of a worn out, tired little man.
Being silly while on the train.
Thursday was my favorite day of the trip because we got to go to a Cubs game which I very much enjoyed. Isaac enjoyed it as well but eventually fell asleep because of all the excitement.
Sunday we headed home which was a very long day for us.
and that has been the most eventful moments of our summer.
